Environment Prefect recognised at City of Canada Bay Sustainability Awards 2018

It is with great pride that we congratulate Kate on receiving the City of Canada Bay Environmental Individual of the Year Award 2018.

It was a pleasure to attend the Canada Bay 2018 Sustainability Awards Dinner at Phoenix Restaurant, Rhodes on Monday 27 August, to support Kate, our Year 12 Environment Committee Prefect, who was nominated by Council for the Environmental Award.

The 2018 Sustainability Awards are presented to businesses, community groups and individuals who have achieved economic, social or environmental progress in the City of Canada Bay.

Kate has been very active at the College this year and has initiated a number of successful projects such as arranging environmental workshops, organising council grants for the continuation of our vegetable garden and worm farm, reducing plastic waste and removing straws from the canteen, Take3 incursion, improving recycling at the school generally, and introducing plastic free alternatives such as the bees wax wrappings.
