As part of the College’s social justice and community service program, the College undertook its first College immersion in 2015, when a group of nine Year 11 students and staff travelled to Fiji. The College’s second Immersion will take place in October 2016, when we will seek to continue our ongoing relationships formed with the local people in 2015. The immersion challenges our students outside their comfort zones, enables them to fully immerse themselves in a different a culture and in turn encourages them to give of themselves in the projects they work on, such as assisting to build local facilities, and in the relationships they form along the way. Responsibility, leadership, resilience and a sense of being of service to others are all qualities which the students can take away with them following the Immersion.
