STEM

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is a strategic priority for the College. Our staff and students are aware of the importance of STEM as a career path through the variety of opportunities provided. Within the curriculum, STEM subjects are linked to authentic, real life problems. Year 7 are introduced to the importance of challenge and persistence in Year 7 mathematics as part of their mathematics curriculum. The wide variety of STEM careers that are available are highlighted through our Women in Engineering Days and enrichment opportunities provided such as the HASSE/NASA trip, the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) Titration Competition, the STARS enrichment programme for Science, the Brain Bee challenge and attendance at the Sydney University Annual Science Lecture series. Our technology department provides opportunities for our students to engage with contemporary technology such as 3D printing, coding and robotics, including competing in the Robocup Challenge.
